Rebecca Menzies Racing and Howe Hills - The Perfect Match

HOW WE STARTED

With no Racing background or connection to fall back on, Rebecca has worked her way up the ladder at a tremendous pace.

From stable lass, racing secretary, travelling head lass and then assistant to the multiple Grade 1 and Cheltenham Festival winning Trainer Ferdy Murpy it’s been through drive and determination that she now presides over her own very impressive training establishment.

From her first training yard at Brandsby, formerly the home of Gold-Cup winning Trainer Peter Beaumont, Rebecca enjoyed three fruitful years as a fledgling in the ranks but quickly established herself as a force to be reckoned with among a new breed of Trainers entering the sport.

A move to Howe Hill Stables in Co Durham was an opportunity too good to pass over. With just a short canter to Sedgefield Racecourse, excellent transport links and the new All-Weather surface at Newcastle a huge plus to her charges and team that have supported her since the start.

Formerly the home of hugely popular and successful dual purpose Northern Trainer John Wade it’s allowed the yard to grow, expectations to rise and Rebecca and her committed staff to embrace the next step forward for a blossoming operation.

With a growing number of owners, horses and staff for carefully planned campaigns under both codes of flat and jumps it’s an exciting time for all at Howe Hills Stables.

Rebecca prides herself on her approach to new owners and has built several successful relationships with syndicates who enjoy all aspects of owning a horse and getting them performing at the best at their ability on the track.

WHY CHOOSE US?

Rebecca Menzies Racing is a one of a kind and a perfect advertisement for the Sport we all love and enjoy. A beautiful dual purpose yard at Howe Hills Stables in Mordon, County Durham which has been the home of Rebecca and her team since the summer of 2016.

A canter from Sedgefield Racecourse, close to the All Weather track at Newcastle and perfectly positioned beside the A1 motorway for runners all around the country in the search of success on the racecourse.

Rebecca, alongside a committed team pride themselves on attention to detail, working closely with specialist nutritionists, physiotherapists and vets ensuring the horses in their care are absolutely at their utmost condition and contentment.

It’s that attention to horse welfare and condition that puts Rebecca and her yard at the forefront of a new generation of Racehorse Trainers and it’s bringing the success it deserves to everyone involved.

We encourage all the owners to come and visit their horses at the yard and watch them work or just pop in and have chat and see the horses and discuss plans over a coffee in the office, we feel this is a huge part of being an owner as gallop mornings and watching your horse work is something that owners love to do......and of course going racing!

Contact Rebecca and her team and get involved. We hope you enjoy the website and thank you for visiting us.

Thursday 17 Jan - Three to the Toon

We have had a quiet spell this week but we have three runners at Newcastle for their twilight meeting.

We start off in with the filly, Wide Acclaim, who is running in the 1m 0-50. We have been a little dissapointed with her so far and the last run at Wolves has left us a little baffled. We will see how she goes this evening as we want to give her another run before we decide what we do with her, it's a case of last chance saloon for her and her patient owners.

The next runne is Cool Kitty. We ideally would have preferred an easier grade but she is ready to run and with it being just up the road we may as well keep ticking her over and try and get some prizemoney, there will be easier opportunities for her in the near future.

The final runner for us will be our best chance. We have Landing Night (pictured) in the 0-75 sprint and he has a lot in his favour. He has ran better than his finishing positions suggest of late, he likes the track, PJ is back on and he;s not badly drawn off a good mark, we are looking for a good run from this likable sprinter.
